5 STAR Effect!
The mentalist brings out a deck of cards and begins to show both sides (faces & backs) to the audience. As he does this he tells them of a theory he has been studying called, “Mass Hypnosis,” whereby a perfect stranger can temporarily suspend reality in such a way that the victim is duped and deceived without ever being the wiser. 
The mentalist offers to give the audience an example of what he means.
Turning the blue deck over, he spreads out the cards showing all the different faces. A spectator is asked to pick a card. It is a free choice (no force). The mentalist squares the deck. He takes the selected card and carefully passes it through the middle of the deck.
“Isn’t it amazing,” the mentalist begins, “that of all the cards in the deck, you picked the only one with a red back.” Your audience will gasp in amazement as they suddenly see the chosen card now has a red back! The rest of the deck is blue!
“That’s Mass Hypnosis!” the mentalist states proudly, “but to prove the point let me show you one more thing...” The mentalist takes the spectators red card and places it face up on the blue deck. “You’ve all been affected by Mass Hypnosis” he announces. “See, none of the cards are blue…”
He now lifts the spectators chosen card away from the deck and suddenly ALL of the cards are now red! The mentalist spreads out the entire deck for display, This is and always was, a red deck of cards. You only thought you were seeing blue."
MASS HYPNOSIS is very easy to perform. This is the first effect I perform in my act and it always blows people away!

THE BUTCHER'S BLADE:
This obscure historical item is formally registered as D.I.M. (Darkly Influenced Matter) and has a grisly past. The original owner was a psychopathic monster and is responsible for terrorizing Northern Scotland in the early 1900's. Oddly enough, nearly all of his victims survived, but in every documented case the Butcher would use his straight edge razor to cut off some of the victims flesh (usually a finger) and keep it as a personal memento!
