| Specialized Shows Now Available: I've designed some very specialized themed magic for my shows. Read the description below and if you see something you like, just request it, and I'll be sure to include it in my performance at no extra cost. Movie Buff Magic  If you love movies half as much as Doug does, well, then its obvious that he likes them twice as much as you! So now that we have that point clearly established, you will want to catch Doug's specialized Movie Buff Magic act featuring magic & effects with a movie theme. The show is steeped in film lore from today and days gone by. Movie Buff Magic promises to be entertaining for anyone who has ever enjoyed watching a movie. The show is great fun for the entire family. For example, one effect Doug likes to perfom is called PICK A FILM, ANY FILM. In this effect three or four guests are each asked to mentally select one movie from a list of 100 different and unique films. The participants don't utter a word. They just think and concentrate on their film choice, and Doug somehow ALWAYS knows the movie they picked! Other effects showcase celebrities and fun lessons involving movie trivia and history ... For example, did you know Carey Grant was originally considered for the part of James Bond? Psychic CSI: Wouldn't it be cool if you could really solve an actual murder mystery using only "PSYCHIC" Powers? (boy, I sure wish I could!). Maybe I can't do it for real but I bet I can make it look like I can! And I'll prove it with two additions to my existing Mentalism performances! For example, do you remember the board game CLUE? Well, in my show it's just like that, but entirely different. That's right! Just like the game, all the clues are mixed up. But what's different about my version is the subtle fact that all three participating audience members are actually murdered! Okay, okay, so they aren't really dead, but they get to pretend to be the ghosts of the victims from a grisly murder! So who killed these poor people? Was it the Butler (it's always the butler), the Maid, the Chef or all three? It's hard to say for sure because someone has tampered with the evidence! It'll take a PSYCHIC DETECTIVE to sort it all out ... Can the PSYCHIC DETECTIVE AGENCY really help the police finally figure things out and bring justice to the victim's families? You won't know for sure unless you request a performance from the PSYCHIC DETECTIVE AGENCY at your next function, party or gathering! Now, just to be clear, the murder doesn't have to be real and I don't claim to have real psychic powers, but other than those tiny, insignificant details, you can be my Psychic CSI and Psychic Detective Agency are as real as anything shown on TV today! | | The Vampire Hunters! Imagine if you will, traveling back in time nearly 100 years ago and living in the village of Whidbey, on the north eastern coast of England. Now, imagine a monster of unimaginable horror is roaming the local countryside. This unholy terror is killing women and children and has the strength and cunning like nothing the Industrial Age or modern science is prepared to comphrehend - let alone even stop! Now it is up to you and your humble crew of misfits to attempt to finally track down and destroy Dracula himself!  Time is of the essence as the crafty devil is not only aware he is being hunted, but has taken numerous precautions to thwart your plans. Do you have what it takes to destroy the Count or will you fail and have to live with the consequences? The Vampire Hunters is a magical story effect that I personally crafted, whereby you are encouraged to participate as one of the characters from Bram Stoker's classic, "Dracula". Participating guests can choose to play the part of Dr. Van Helsing, the lovely Mina, or the mad Renfeld. All of you must work together if the Count is to be stopped and put to final rest once and for all! Although the Vampire Hunters isn't really suitable for children, it isn't all that scary either. So if you're up for some harmles, but spooky fun, be sure to request The Vampire Hunters when you book your show. |  Sometimes Spooky, Often Mental Humor Doug offers a wide range of magic performances. His favorite shows spotlight these three passions: Mentalism, the Paranormal & Humor Magic has been an ever evolving love affair for me. I performed my first show when I was about 7 years old. As I recall, it was an outdoor venue performed for all the neighhborhood kiddies. I wasn't very good, but I do remember really impressing one of the moms. She was either trying very hard to encourage me or a complete and utter moron, (and considering the way her kids turned out ... I'm betting moron!) Oh, I'm just kidding, Mrs. Biden! I didn't know it at the time, but the "magic seed" had been firmly planted and was beginning to sprout. From there I would sometimes acquire simple, but usually clever effects, and then perform them so often people would either figure it out or manage to beg the secret out of me! Of course, my all time favorite was the always scary, "Bloody Finger Chopper". Except mine wasn't bloody or really much of a chopper until I tweaked it a bit. (At this time I need to pause my story and send out a personal note to my old dear friend, 2 Fingers Jack. Hey buddy, I want you to know I still feel really bad about what happened, but I also think it is only fair to remind you that it was you who insisted I try again ... two more times!) Later, as I entered adolescence, my interest in magic tricks waned, but my love for mentalism began to really gather momentum. Often I would spend many long, lonely hours in the dark, with no one to play with but myself ... and in spite of the solitude, I often found it was these very moments which allowed me to really uncover and harness unique elements of mental magic ... For example, when I was 15, I could go up to any girl in school and totally guess her phone number (I swear this is true). I used to love watching the girls react. As I called out the digits, their innocent, bright eyes would widen, their little mouths would drop and I could see their spirits fill with awe and amazement. Now, the fact they never answered the phone when I called, or how many times the person answering would swear I had the wrong number is not the point! The point is this, I was developing powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men and it scared people. Oh yes, it scared them and I soon realized I had a great responsibility ... I could use my powers responsibly and for good or I could use them selfishly and for evil ... hmmn, which way should I go? (Evil of course! - just ask my ex! Brouha! Brouha ha ha ha! J) Later, as I entered young adulthood, I found myself really curious about the "paranormal." That is, until I had some genuine encounters, (the Mysterious Omar can validate all of that). Today I am no longer curious, but my lawyer tells me I must inform all potential customers that my Paranormal Sessions are for ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY! So let me make this very, very clear ... If I perform a "Paranormal Session" in your home and your home is taken over by supernatural entities (real or imagined - it makes no difference) - it is NOT my fault or my responsibility! Whatever happens was probably going to happen anyway and it's only a coincidence that I happened to be conjuring dark, haunted, or unnatural elements ... so there! J | |
